Why Choose Preventative Maintenance?

We are often shocked how people will spend thousands on a repair bill but won't spend hundreds to stop the more expensive jobs ever appearing. And that, in a nutshell, is precisely what preventative maintenance does!

The one thing we notice the most is how many rebuilds we do when more than half of them could have been saved if they had been serviced correctly. Engine/gearbox oil changing, filters refresh/replacement and valve checks (4 strokes) are all simple, inexpensive operations and yet they are rarely performed. Sure, all engines need to be refreshed at certain intervals but proper, thorough servicing can more than double those intervals.

In the example below the customer had rarely given his ride any love and when we informed him it was going to cost a couple of thousand pound to repair he wanted to know why. You only have to look at the air filter and box to see how much rubbish has got into the engine.

4 Strokes are a highly evolved race engine and require constant monitoring. Valve checks are especially important as they can tell a story of impending doom and catching them early could save you a great deal of money. Correct clearances also eliminate the majority of starting/running issues.

Lets get real for a minute. Servicing does not fix preexisting issue, it solves them before they happen. Therefore any problems found outside the parameters of servicing would be discussed with you prior to commencing and charged at the relevant rate.
