Carbs
The Heart Of Most Running Issues
Carb's, and their associated parts, would be the single most common cause of running issues. Refreshing carb's is an everyday part of life for us so we've decided to take this service to the next level by offering colour coding using the Cerakote coating system. So we now offer 3 levels of service!
First, there are 3 basic types of carbs, they look different and operate differently.
CV Carb
A carb that uses a diaphram to raise the slide.
Mechanical Carb
A carb that raises the slide via mechanical means – cable, lever etc.
FCR Style Carb
A specialised racing carb that has a 3 piece body.

Level 1 - Refresh
Strip, clean and inspect. Ultrasonic bath and dry. Reassemble with rebuild kits. Setup to factory specs unless given owner specified setup.

Level 2 - Restore
Strip, clean and inspect. Ultrasonic bath and dry. Soda blast back to original finish. Final clean. Reassemble with rebuild kits & new jets. Setup to factory specs unless given owner specified setup.

Level 3 - Custom
Strip, clean and inspect. Ultrasonic bath and dry. Soda blast back to original finish. Clean. Colourise using Cerakote with 2 colours and the layout of your choice. Additional colours available.. Final clean. Reassemble with rebuild kits & new jets. Setup to factory specs unless given owner specified setup.
PLEASE NOTE: This process will not be available until early 2024 - An announcement will be made.
Prices quoted are for labour content and the processes involved. Parts required are additional and are usually only the rebuild kits, these range from around £30.00 to £60.00 dependent on make/model of carb.
A final quote can be offered after inspection of the carb.
PRICING DOES NOT INCLUDE REMOVAL OR REFITTING TO VEHICLE OR FREIGHT!

Some Terminology
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Basically a bath of water and chemicals that “vibrates” the dirt from metal.
Great for clearing the small air and fuel orifices found in carbs
Sodablasting
A form of shot/sand blasting using a specialised media. Brings the body parts back to original condition.
Cerakoting
The Cerakoting process in laymans terms is painting the carb.
The “paint” however is a specialised coating that can withstand chemicals like petrol so it’s entirely safe in this application. The down side is the curing time required before the carb can be reassembled and used,it takes a day to prepare and coat, 5 days of curing and another day to assemble and setup. If you dropped it off the day before we started on it, it would be a minimum 7 days before you could pick it up. If you send us the carb and we send it back you have also got transit time to think about, in this instance you should plan on not having it for 2 weeks.
Setup & Tuning
We can also help with rejetting and setup, especially after any changes to the intake or exhaust systems. This would also be required after certain engine modifications like fitting a big bore kit or a performance camshaft. The number one reason we find ourselves rejetting carbs is that someone else has already tried and got it wrong. Unless otherwise discussed, carbs are returned to factory jetting and setup.
